Slugs & Bugs & Harry Potter?

Maybe you didn’t know, but Slugs & Bugs has deep wizarding roots. In fact, in the film versions of books 5 and 6 from the Harry Potter series, if you look closely on the Gryffindor common room noticeboard, you’ll see a poster hailing die-hard Slugs & Bugs fans for a Friday meeting.

As you can see, they called it the Slugs & Bugs Club, and it owns the distinct honor of being one of the clubs disbanded under the orders of Educational Decree Number Twenty-Four established by Dolores Umbridge, the soon to be ex-High Inquisitor of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

I really think someone out there ought to get that old club going again. The name has such a nice ring to it, and clubs are fun! You get to have meetings, share interests, elect people to cool offices like president, VP,  secretary, treasurer, historian – now that’d be cool. For the Slugs & Bugs club you could come up with a motto, a club symbol or colors, or a COAT OF ARMS! Now we’re talking! And of course there’d be some kind of special privileges for officers and members. Who is going to get this going? Are you the chosen one?
